[/color]he little blue dot signifying that her webcam was indeed working seemed to be teasing her. she wanted so badly to shut her laptop and walk away from the problem just as she had done so many times. when things got rough she had a tendency to leave which was a sign of weakness on her part. she didn't like dealing with emotions and that was something jack always knew about her. she hated to show her vulnerability but as of late that's all she had been doing which was out of the ordinary for her. jack's words rang loud in clear in her ears as he screamed back at her about leaving. she knew it had never been fair to him yet she didn't look back once. she sat there, her grip on the bear never loosening, as she brushed away the tears falling from her bright blue eyes. “ i'm just afraid that you will lose interest in me." she said softly as she looked at the screen once more to meet his gaze. “ i'm no longer the only girl in your life and that frightens me, jack." the words left her lips before she had time to retract them. she hated letting the truth slip free so easily.

 --- ALL of this arguing was stressing jack out and making him want to go out for a cigarette ten times more. but he knew he couldn't leave the conversatio0n like this. this conversation had been on the verge of happening since the day he came back and maybe it was good that it was over skype. if they would have been in the same room he would have tried to end it by sleeping with her- a task that had always worked before in the past, and he was sure it would have happened then as well. especially with her as upset as she was right now. staring into the webcam fondly, he couldn't help but think how adorable she looked holding that bear. when she finally admitted what he knew all along, jack nodded, "do you really think i'll lose interest? you managed to keep me hooked for four years before we broke up. do you think i can just forget that? forget you?" he asked gently, looking right down into the screen, nodding at her next statement, "no you aren't the only girl, but you're still one of the most important. i would hope that meant something" he said, trying his best to be sweet to her now. "give it some time, okay? we'll see where it goes. just know that you still take my breath away. very often" he said, hoping his sweet comment would atleast make her smile and stick around for alittle longer.
