diem roxanna cabral is a twenty year old student attending juliard in new york city and the middle child in the cabral clan. the young ballerina has returned from los angeles where not only but a few months before she was in a major dancing company, but the failing company was steadily losing money. from those who know her, diem has left los angeles because she wasn't in enough shows to pay her rent and continue living in the city, but that isn't the entire story. diem has come to new york to live in the condo her parents own after she bowed out of a few shows to move in with her boyfriend from high school only to find him in bed with her best friend. bitter about her weak choices in los angeles, her issues with her father, and her estranged mother, and the odd treatment she gets from her stepmother's side of the family, diem often takes it out on those around her with her sarcastic asshole comments, and bad attitude. she is a self-described cold hard bitch. she has her redeeming moments around certain amounts of people mostly her family and the certain amount of people she actually lets get to her. catch her in a good mood, or you make her laugh, and you're golden. only when diem's truly happy is the complete 180 of the person she's become since she returned from la. as of now, diem is trying to save up enough money to return to los angeles again and re-begin her life, despite the knowledge of her father she's receiving money from estranged mother to go back. all she wants is to restart her career.

alexander declan west, accompanied by ripley, alex's de facto best friend. at twenty alex's life has been ever packed with a lot of disdain, and events already. as the oldest child of a family of five, including his two parents delia and colin; a university music conductor, and a publishing CEO, and two younger siblings named keira and theo, alex is the level headed and nonchalant one even through the event that had claimed them all from him. alex's special talent comes in the form of being an utter natural at almost anything. the golden boy of his academy, alex was good at almost anything he touched, but art forms have always been his specialty, specifically he'd become somewhat of a piano affianado thanks to his mother and his love for water polo, creating music, painting, and sculpting always fell the the wayside. his ever forming talent with the piano lead him to composing his first piece at age six, and being accepted to a regal talent program in london during the summer before senior year. at the end of the summer program a showcase was put on and the decision for his family to fly out was easy for them, and with that they hopped on their small private jet to head on over. unfortunately, the plane was going to be sent in for what was believed to be minor repairs after the short trip across the pond, but they never made it across. the news of his family's disappearance didn't hit him until after the showcase. after the accident, alex stayed with his uncle in london for his senior year, before pondering his college choices. with an acception from julliard, he told his uncle this is where he'd be though alex found solace instead in crowded new york and a city where he would wander around like a ghost. alex keeps his easy going, nonchalant personality for his best and only friend ripley, named after the sly main character in patricia highsmith's the talented mr ripley and instead is a sarcastic asshole to everyone else around him. alex never keeps people around in fear of just losing them all over again, and never really keeps extended female company around because he doesn't believe that anyone should have to deal with his bullshit. instead all of his energy in life in now focused on water polo and his hopes of reaching the olympics. he rarely touches pianos.

DIEM - i really love her name, jsykkk. flora will probably not know her and if she did, they wouldn't get along well since they're both sarcastic and relatively bitchy. tomas won't know her, i don't think, but if you can think of anything, feel free to let me know. silas will want to get to know her. he's the type to see the best in everyone so he'd try to get past her cold exterior and really become her friend. they'd be cute if he managed, i think. ruthie won't know her since there's such a big age gap and penelope and her can be friends. they've both kind of got fucked up family lives so they could bond over that and penny's pretty sassy and lippy when she wants to be so they would argue a lot but still have a good friendship. sicily might know her but i'm not too sure. i can't think of anything, to be honest. sorry, lovely.

ALEXANDER - chico is the love of my lifeee. except not really. he's just way too cute for words. he's also incredibly young. why?! it's so hard to plot with you now, you buttface. flora will coddle him, always hit on him, but never actually do anything since she's no cougar. tomas will not know him. silas and he are going to get along to an extent. they both lost their parents, or in silas' case, parent, so they would be able to connect through that. he really wouldn't appreciate alex being an asshole although he wouldn't say anything about it. he's not very confrontational. i think they'd be very temperamental friends, tbh. ruthie will adore him and probably try to act like an older sister or something, constantly trying to dispense her wisdom upon him. penelope would think of him as the asshole with the cute face. she'd always make snide comments toward him but at the same time, feel bad for him for losing his family since she hasn't got a father. i think she might try to con him since she's an extortionist. i have nada for sicily, yet again.
