REASON FOR BEING IN NEW YORK
well i spend half my year in new york and half my time back in england. i'm a drama teacher here in new york from january to june and from around june to december i'm back in durham. i don't really know why i came to new york exactly, i think i just wanted to break out of durham, since for a city it's pretty small and you know everyone within days it seems.

INTERVIEW
"zeke has kept me on track for a hell of a long time, he's always looking out for me and sometimes it's a little overwhelming. not that i'm complaining, because really i couldn't ask for a better son. once upon a time there was just me and zeke in a tiny house making ends meet and incredibly close, then i married keith and moved in with him and we've become a little more distant. sure he comes home and visits a hell of a lot, but him living in new york isn't exactly helping. he's such a sweet guy and extremely passionate about making the most out of everyone, wearing his heart on his sleeve and doing everything he possibly can to put others before him. if it wasn't for the rough patch where he was in trouble every night for one thing or another, i'd say he was a saint. but then again, everyone goes through a difficult stage when they're around fifteen. "
rebecca kennedy, 48
"i've never really got on well with zeke. he's rude, obnoxious, arrogant and egotistical and can't help but stick his nose in where he's not wanted just because he's convinced me and my dad are up to something constantly. i'm so glad i only see him for a few months at a time, otherwise i really don't know how i'd cope being in the same house as him every single day."
declan kennedy, step brother
"to be honest, i dated zeke when we were around fifteen or sixteen and it wasn't exactly incredibly serious. we used to sit around on stone walls with a tonne of friends, sharing a cigarette between us even though i knew for a fact he disagreed with it completely. his rebellious side was captivating to me at that age and he'd become a lot more interesting. we never really were massively public about dating and most of our conversations were incredibly short and usually over text so there wasn't a lot of imput in there, but i always knew he was looking out for me. that was nice."
erika uberman, 22
"ezekiel was always a very enthusiastic student, sometimes a little too much. he had no shame and an endless pit of confidence, but he wasn't big headed or arrogantin any way, he used it to the best of his ability and i full admired that. although he liked to fit in with his friends, who were a troublesome lot, i know for a fact he didn't agree with half the things he did, because he was always an incredibly sweet boy. i met him a few months ago when he came into the school to cover for the drama teacher here and he's the nicest and humblest pupil i've ever re-met many years later. "
kimberly jackson, 39
"zeke is a complete and utter genius, i've worked with him for quite some time, being the music teacher at the school and i can honestly say i couldn't admire him more. but enough with the emotional crap. zeke is an incredibly fun guy, he's not afraid of anything but he still is quite soft which is really endearing about him. he comes out with some wise cracks and never fails to cheer anyone up who needs it. i can tell how much he inspires people and he really does have a gift with explanation and seeing things no one else can really see until he's seen it first. he's a great friend and clearly he makes me sound gay."
daniel everett, 25.
"zeke? complete and utter waste of time. he's too involved in his own stuff and bragging about living in new york now that he can't make time for anyone. don't get me wrong, we used to be friends and i'm not saying he's a horrible person, he's just changed since i met him when we were 11 and i really dislike who he is now and have done since he was around 15 and decided i didn't exsist."
aaron whelpdale, 23
PERSONAL
but really, i am... pretty obsessive. i'm obsessive about getting things right, having time in the day to do everything and planning everything out. i like to write everything down and try and gain time from places i don't have. i like everything to be organised, but in a chaotic way because being too organised is stressful and interferes with creativity. i'm obsessive about bringing out the best in people and making people understand things incredibly deeply. i'm a big believer in not judging people as i have no idea what they're going through and also a believer that coffee is best very concentrated, without milk or sugar and just about warm.
and i live by... "feel the fear and do it anyway."
