it bothers me most that you don't talk to me! still, i've been far too into myself, i want to hear more about you. i don't want us to feel distant from each other, you know?

well, we'll talk when you come over to watch the tape with me. i hope you know that veruca won't be happy about this. i understand, now, though, why it bothered you that she disliked you.

promise? ughh, i don't get the whole issue. in fact, i blame tv for this, you can't see a boy and a girl on screen together without assuming something is going on between them and that seeps into real life! i don't want gender politics to come between our friendship, my woman's lit professor was talking about this last week.

i promise. that's why i hardly watch television. it rots the brain. but honestly, lola, don't worry. i won't let this happen again.

with the notable exception of nature documentaries, of course. i can't tell you how relieved i am to hear that, i was worried you'd outgrown me!

precisely. only earth is worth the trouble. i'm a child at heart, so you never have to worry about that.
